What is Tang Soo Do?

Tang Soo Do is a martial art that traces its roots back over 2000 years. Its techniques and traditions have remained constant for centuries. It is one of few Traditional Korean martial arts that held to its roots; therefore it directly represents what Korean martial arts is in our ever changing world of martial arts. Directly translated; Tang Soo Do is “The Way of the Chinese Hand”. Specifically:

Tang- refers to the Tang Dynasty of China
Soo- refers to Hand but implies a fist or a hand without a weapon
